Dr. Tedde
Marie Rinker was educated in the Midwest and attended Medical school at
Michigan State University, graduating from the College of Osteopathic
Medicine at MSU in 1978. Her subsequent medical training included a
rotating medical internship at Botsford General
Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and a residency in General Psychiatry
at Wayne State University, Lafayette Clinic, in Detroit, Michigan. She is
Board Certified in Neurology and Psychiatry. During this time she was also
ACLS certified and worked evenings in a class 1 emergency room, treating a
wide variety of major medical problems and trauma victims.
She moved to
California in 1981 and completed a postgraduate fellowship in child and
adolescent psychiatry at UCSF Langley Porter Neuropsychiatric Institute in
1983. Even though she pursued psychiatric training, her primary
interest has always been the mind-brain and mind-body connections, and how to
achieve healing of the whole person.
In 1984, she
co-founded The Center for Stress Medicine in San Jose, California.
This clinic specialized in evaluating and treating people with stress related
medical illnesses, such as ulcer and colon disease, migraine headaches, panic
attacks, insomnia, chronic fatigue, post heart attack recovery and the full
spectrum of psychiatric medical conditions, such as depression, anxiety
disorders, etc. In 1992 she began to collect data on one of the anti-aging
hormones, DHEA, and how it relates to the condition of memory and cognitive
decline, especially in patients with chronic fatigue and depression.
She had a great deal of success treating these conditions, which are very
complex and seriously disabling the person who has them. People with
multi-symptom pain and dysfunction often have complex issues to address,
before a person can feel whole and healthy again. Dr. Rinker is ready to face
the challenge of partnering with you to find full recovery.
She has been a Board
Certified Physician in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine since 2000, and
has served as an Examiner for the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine
(The specialty recognition identified herein has been received from a private
organization not affiliated with or recognized by the Osteopathic Medical
Board nor by the American Board of Medical Specialties). In 2001, she
was selected by an independent survey of the Top 500 Physicians in the Bay
Area by her professional peers. (Castle Connolly’s Physicians Guide to
America’s Top Doctors, 2001)
In 2002, she wrote a
book, Anti-Aging Medical Practice for Primary Care Physicians. This was offered as an e-learning course for
physicians and healthcare practitioners, and interested individuals through
her website. When back online, this course will be helpful to
physicians and healthcare practitioners who want to learn more about the
basics of bio-identical hormone replacement, the principles of anti-aging
medicine, and the specifics of treatment. The course is currently
offline undergoing updating and revision to include new research and
treatment principles. She has published a
new book, "The
Renegade Patient," a guide for people who want to get the best health care
available, and want to learn how to manage the health care system, their
records, and how to utilize complementary/alternative medicine. This
book is available through this website with free
shipping. Just click on "Contact Dr. Rinker" and provide your name
and contact information and method of payment. The book is also available
through most Online
